There's good news for coffee and tea drinkers.The Harvard Health Letter lists the results from long-term studies of drinking coffee in moderation. The results show that coffee may not increase the risk for high blood pressure as previously thought. It also may have anti-cancer properties, and researchers found that coffee drinkers have 50 percent less liver cancer than non-coffee drinkers.There are also ties to lower rates of colon, breast and rectal cancers.Coffee may also contain chemicals that lower blood sugar and increase one's resting metabolism.But keep in mind that two substances in coffee can raise cholesterol levels, the report said. Using paper filters can reduce those substance sand using non-fat creamers can help lower cholesterol evermore.
